United Way Announces New Senior Vice President of Strategic Philanthropy

Annie Madonia(Philadelphia, PA) - Jill Michal, President and CEO of United Way of Southeastern Pennsylvania and Carl M. Buchholz, Managing Partner and CEO Blank Rome LLP and Chair, Board of Directors United Way of Southeastern Pennsylvania announce the appointment of Annie Madonia as Senior Vice President of Strategic Philanthropy. Annie joins United Way from the Philadelphia Orchestra where she spent three years leading efforts in fundraising, endowment campaigns and Board development.

Working closely with the board, CEO and other civic leaders throughout the region to raise nearly $50 million annually, Annie will be responsible for leading the development and execution of a dynamic and integrated fundraising strategy in a highly competitive market. Annie's role will blend all aspects of philanthropy into an integrated fundraising and community engagement strategy that builds on and leverages United Way's partnerships with its diverse set of key stakeholders in this region - from labor unions and corporations to individual philanthropists and family foundations.

"I am honored and excited to be chosen for this important position," Ms. Madonia stated. "I look forward to working with our corporate and community partners to advance the common good throughout the region while building the funds necessary to invest in the work of United Way.”

An experienced veteran of fund raising and development, Annie’s professional background includes roles of growing importance at the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, Carnegie Hall, Cleveland Botanical Garden and the Cleveland Orchestra. Anna is a 1987 graduate of Wellesley College and a resident of Wayne, PA.
